For Dal
- 2 tbsp clarified butter (Ghee) or vegetable oil
- 1 onion medium size finely chopped
- 2 fresh tomatoes medium size finely chopped
- 1 green chilli deseeded and finely chopped (optional)
- 10 grams fresh ginger finely chopped
- 4 large garlic clove finely chopped (15 grams)
- 2 tbsp coriander leaves finely chopped (optional)
- 1 tsp of salt or salt to taste
For Tadka (Tempering)
- 1 tbsp clarified butter (ghee) or vegetable oil
- 1 garlic clove finely chopped
